FLIGHT TO THE MTC
We are grateful for the message we recieved from a great sister Tuesday morning as we were thinking about Elder Vincent and wondering whether he made it to the MTC safely. We know he is in God's hands, but we are so blessed to have his children everywhere watching out for his servants:
I’m not sure if this is the right page but thought I’d share a photo hoping this is your son elder Vincent.. what a remarkable young man.. grateful for the spirit that i felt and for the opportunity i had to bear of serving a mission as well and the infinite blessings that pours abundantly not only in him but his family.. i never get too many opportunities to fly with passengers of the same faith let alone commuting to the mtc to start a full time mission.. you’ve raised an amazing young man and thank you for that.. may the good lord continue to watch over you and elder Vincent as he journeys to do the will of the lord and serve the people of Argentina.. god bless and one love..

The Mexico MTC frequently posts pictures on FaceBook of missionaries and activities going on there. Elder Vincent is in Branch 7, District C. Here are a few pictures of his district:

Hey guys this week was amazing!
The day I got here, I got here early with 6 other
missionaries and we went through the general orientation. From there we got
news that we would be helping the front office with getting the rest of the
missionaries coming in. We helped over 300 new missionaries all from Utah. We
had to help unload all their bags and it was raining and in our suits so that
was fun.
My companion is Elder Dallin Davis. He is from Queen Creek
Arizona. There are 6 of us in our
district going to Argentina Bahia Blanca. I have amazing roommates! Elder Sneddon and Elder Mickelson. They
are all so cool and fun. We have barely known each other for a week but it
feels like I have known them my whole life.
We started classes and the rigorous schedule immediately the
next day and it was hard getting used to it at first but once I got into the
groove, it was all good. My Spanish is coming along, I can understand the
Latinos well and I can translate to the rest of my district when they do not
understand but the tricky part is responding. It is especially hard because I do not have a wide vocabulary
right now but it is amazing.
I can feel my testimony growing daily. The fact that EVERYTHING IS CENTERED
AROUND THE GOSPEL AND THE SPIRIT IS SO GREAT! We had our first investigator on Wednesday last week and his
name is Sebastian. Before going into the lesson, I was so excited and I could
not wait to share the first lesson with him. His parents are catholic and his sister is a member but she
has shared el Libro de Mormon to him. When we started teaching, I could
honestly feel the love God had for him and I was so happy. I smiled throughout
the whole lesson and I loved it! I
could feel the spirit so strongly. But guess what.... it turns out he was a
fake!!!!! He was actually our
teacher! He taught the rest of the
afternoon and it was hilarious jajaja.
The past two nights was very interesting. Me and our room
had a gospel doctrine discussion on like deeper questions of el evangelio and
none of the questions were bashing the church or even close to it but it was
the kind that gets you pondering and thinking why things happened in the
scriptures or like things we do not know much about. We talked for 2 nights in
a row about these things but no matter what the subject was on, the spirit was
so strong. The strongest I have ever felt since being here at the CCM.
Sorry for not emailing earlier but we just came back from
the temple. The Mexico temple is so amazing!!!! It is huge! It is maybe 4 floors
tall. It is about 3 or 2 Laie temples put together but it was so big, we had to
take escalators up to the next floor for endowment sessions. It was cool. We all had translators but my translator
magically did not work so I sat through it immersed into the Spanish. I felt
the spirit so strong there and it was really cool hearing it in Spanish. It is
about an hour bus ride away from the CCM and it was cool. Mexico looks exactly
like they do in movies with the favelas on the mountain. They have colorful
houses but I will send pictures next week, I forgot the transfer cable.
PS: sorry for the mistakes in the grammar or typos, Mexican
keyboards are hard to use jajaja!
