Hey guys, this week has been crazy!
08/23/18, Thursday
It was a bittersweet day
and it was hard. We said goodbye to our teachers and that was hard. I will
surely miss Hermano Ventura and Hermana Hallal. We said our final goodbyes and we had a last testimony
meeting together with our district in a circle. It was good and I felt the spirit. When people wonder if they were worth it, when they wonder if
the atonement was worth it for them, they really were because everyone is
special. Someone shared that
during the testimony and I really felt the spirit when they shared it because
we are all worth it!
08/24/18, Friday
Today was spent traveling
and it was fun. We took a flight from Mexico to Buenos Aires for about 9 hours
and the plane was one of the nicest and biggest planes I have been on! They served 2 meals and it was all in
good company so that was great! We
got to Buenos Aires that night and stayed in a nice hotel! We had amazing beef and fries and it
was perfect. To top off the night, we had a nice room but the only downside is
a Bidet!!! Those are crazy! jaja I
have no idea how I will learn to use it!
I will have to learn because they have them everywhere apparently
jaja!!!! [Note: A bidet is a
plumbing fixture or type of sink intended for washing the genitalia, perineum,
inner buttocks, and anus of the human body, and is usually located next to the
toilet]
Buenos Aires looks like a
cool city, I can’t wait!!!
08/25/18, Saturday
We woke up early and took
a flight to Mar Del Plata and then connected to Bahia Blanca on the same plane.
It was about 2 to 2.5 hours long.
I sat next to an Argentina lady so we talked and she said my Spanish was
really good so that was cool! We
got to Bahia Blanca and met the mission president and the AP’s. They are all awesome! We got there and had lunch with them! We
had Empanadas and they were so so sooooo good! Some of the best food is here!
jaja.
We talked and then went to
the clerks house. They have about 13 beds in the living room so that is way
cool! We went there and then we chilled.
At about 5pm, we left for a baptismal service. There were 2 people
getting baptized and then 2 more in another capilla (church). The people here
are copado (cool/great) and they were welcoming. Most of the people that are
not members however are not so welcoming.
We came home and we had pizza.
This may sound weird but they had eggs on it! Fried eggs but it was super good. They weren’t lying when
they said they have the best food here!
08/26/18, Sunday
Today, we went to church
and it was good. It was interesting trying to understand them because their
accent is way cool! It will take a
while before I have it down. We later went to President Hymas house in Bahia
Blanca. It was huge!!! They have a
pool, a half basketball court and the house is amazing! We had some good food and then we had
interviews with president. They
were good and I can really tell that President Hymas cares about all of us.
Later, we left and then we
met our new comps. My companion is an elder from Paraguay and his name is Elder
Gonzales. He is pretty cool. He is a Latino so he should help me with my
Spanish. He also speaks English so
that’s good. They have a lot of cool words here! Jajaja. I am assigned to Santa Rosa in Bario
2. It is bout 5 or 6 hours bus
ride from the mission home. We
will be leaving at about 7pm tonight.
Elder Taylor from Idaho is going there with me. I hear the people there are cool and
there is a dog named Samuel that follows the missionaries around so I am super
stoked!
08/27/18, Monday
Today we went to go do
legal work for our residency here. Then we had Argentine facturas (pastry/sweet
rolls – light, flakey, buttery and delicious) and they are so good with dulce
de leche! We are hanging out at
the mission office until later when I leave.
I love you all and have a
good day.
